About Tim Kennedy
Who is Tim Kennedy?
My name is Tim Kennedy. My wife, Dawn, and I have been married for a little over 20 years. Together, with our seven children, we have lived in District 25 for the past 11 years. When I was three, my parents moved here from Florida and I have lived in the Greenville area ever since.
My college degrees are in Business Information Technology and Computer Electronics and for going on 9 years now I have had the opportunity to work behind the scenes in an IT role for a local non-profit organization, furthering the mission of giving true and lasting hope to kids, teens, adults, and seniors.
Making a Difference
To make a difference, you have to be different. To change our government, we have to elect a different kind of candidate. Tim Kennedy is a different kind of candidate. I believe strongly in the United States Constitution and the power of individual freedom that the Constitution guarantees. I believe that the government only has authority as granted to it by the people; that it is the people’s responsibility to hold their elected officials accountable; that government must be limited in size and scope; that justice means the law is applied equally to everyone; that all levels of government should exercise transparency and fiscal responsibility; that commerce should remain free of government interference and reward hard work and self-sacrifice; that the family, as established by God, is the nucleus of society and must be strengthened; that human life, from conception to natural death, has an inestimable value and must be protected; that everyone has the right to worship and live according to their religious beliefs without the fear of government intrusion; that every individual has the God-given right to protect themselves, their property, and their family without the fear of government retaliation; that the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed; that a free society requires personal responsibility; that public office is a place of public service, not a place of personal gain.
Why am I Running for Office?
Everyone has reasons for running for office, what are mine?

My conservative values are not being represented in District 25.
For the 10 years that we have lived in District 25, we have had representative who has consistently voted according to the liberal agenda. That means that there have been no votes for life 1, liberty 2, or the general welfare of the People 3. -
The Constitution has been all but forgotten.
The Declaration of Independence acknowledges that we all have certain unalienable rights. Rights that are granted by God and not by government. These rights include the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and I would add to that the right to educate our children as we see fit, the right to worship freely without government interference, the right to own property, and the right to defend ourselves, our property and our families. While the Declaration of Independence acknowledges these rights, the Constitution guarantees these rights to all citizens. Both our federal and our state governments have forgotten the Constitution and aggressively make laws driving us, the citizens of the United States of America, further and further into slavery. -
Our rights and privileges as Americans come with responsibility.
Several of my relatives fought for freedom’s cause in World War I and World War II and perhaps other wars as well. The same may be true for you. These men and women fought for the cause of freedom: your freedom and mine! Because of their sacrifice and the sacrifice of so many others throughout our nation’s history, we have the nation and the freedoms that we have today. For many of these, the fight was in the cities and towns of New England, New York, and Virginia, or on the battlefields in Europe and the Islands of the Pacific, for others, it was in Afghanistan or the Middle East or one of many other places around this nation and across the globe. Today the fight looks different. Instead of soldiers dressed in camouflage, it’s men and women dressed in suits. instead of the battle being waged with weapons on a battlefield, the battle rages behind closed doors, in caucus meetings, and on the floors of legislative bodies and conference rooms of towns across the country. Weapons of war have been replaced with words of defamation, character assassination, personal attacks, political bullying, slander, unreasonable litigation, and ill-cast votes. Every generation has to fight for freedom and defending freedom always requires sacrifice. Let it not be said of us that we enjoyed the privileges of freedom while ignoring the responsibility that comes with it. If we ignore the responsibility we will lose the freedom.
